Installing the L2W-323 Gateway
V.35 WAN Connections
There are two different WAN serial cables you can use to connect the Gateway V.35 ports.
The cables you use depend on the type of V.35 module and on the dialing standard
supported by connection device:

The WAN serial cables are not supplied with the L2W-323 Gateway. For the connector pin-
outs and details, see Appendix A, "Cable Connectors and Pin-outs."

To connect the V.35 DTE ports to an IMUX or terminal adapter with a V.35/RS-366
DTE cable
1. Connect the D-type 26-pin male connector of the V.35/RS-366 cable to one of the
V.35 DTE ports.
2. Connect the V.35 male connector and the RS-366 male connector on the other end of
the cable to the connecting device.

To connect the Gateway V.35 DTE ports to a modem in a dedicated connection
1. Connect the D-type 26-pin male connector of the V.35 cable to one of the V.35 DTE
ports.
2. Connect the V.35 male connector on the other end of the cable to the modem device.

To connect the V.35 DCE ports to an H.320 device with an V.35/RS-366 DCE cable
1. Connect the D-type 26-pin male connector of the V.35/RS-366 DCE cable to one of
the V.35 DCE ports.
2. Connect the V.35 female connector and the RS-366 female connector on the other end
of the cable to the connecting device.
Dedicated Connections
In a dedicated connection, the Gateway connects to another gateway or to an H.320 terminal
via modems. The Gateway uses a dedicated protocol for this connection.
