Basic Configuration
Description – allows you to type a text description of this LAN port. For complex
networks, we recommend that this description include identifying information about the
LAN segment this LAN port is connected to. This field is mandatory and is limited to a
maximum of 31 characters; the default is 'attached to shared segment.'

To define a LAN port
1. From the LAN Port Settings screen, select the Enabled check box.
2. In the IP Address text box, type the IP address attributed to this port. For LAN port 1
this IP is identical to the Gateway IP address and is displayed automatically.
3. In the IP Mask field, type the relevant network IP Mask.
4. In the Description field, type a description for the LAN port.
5. Click Next until you reach the LAN Parameters screen.
Note: If you change the IP address of LAN port 1, you will change the IP address of the
unit and of the internal Gatekeeper. When you upload the configuration parameters
to the unit, the Gateway restarts with the new IP address.
