Basic Configuration
Setting the Gateway Parameters
There are several mandatory parameters you have to set for the Gateway for it to become
operational. Mandatory Gateway configuration includes:
!" Selecting a configuration source file.
!" Defining a default Gatekeeper for the L2W-323 Gateway.
!" Setting a second number delimiter for calls over 2B channels.
!" Setting the LAN port parameters for the LAN port.
!" Defining services.
!" Setting the WAN port parameters.
When configuring the Gateway parameters, you can load a configuration file with set
parameters. This is the configuration source file. Loading a configuration file simplifies the
configuration procedure, as you do not have to set so many parameters.
Selecting the Configuration Source File
The configuration software has two default configuration source files for the L2W-323
Gateway:
Current – retrieves the current parameter settings from the Gateway and allows you to
change them. When configuring a new unit these settings are the same as the Plug & Play
file settings.
Plug & Play – retrieves a source file with default parameter settings. The Plug & Play file
settings are the factory default settings.
