When unpacking the L2W-323 Gateway:
1. Make sure that the package contains all items listed on the enclosed packing list.
2. Remove the contents of the shipping box. These include:
!" L2W-323 Gateway.
!" WAN modules you ordered (optional).
!" Power cable.
!" Serial (null modem) cable for connecting a PC or modem to the Gateway.
!" 19-inch rack mounting kit including two brackets, four screws and four flat
washers.
!" Gateway L2W-323 User Guide and L2W-323 Gateway Quick Start Guide.
!" L2W-323 Gateway software and documentation CD-ROM.
!" Release Notes.
3. Inspect the RADVision L2W-323 Gateway for possible shipping damage. Report any
damaged or missing items to your local distributor.
Site Considerations
The Gateway is suited for an office environment where it can be rack mounted with your
other network equipment or free standing.
Before deciding where to mount the L2W-323 Gateway, ensure that:
!" The Gateway is close to:
!" An available WAN connection to ISDN lines, an IMUX, a modem or a terminal
adapter, depending on the WAN modules you ordered with the Gateway.
!" Available 10/100-T LAN ports on a hub or switch.
!" A grounded AC power outlet.
!" The appropriate WAN cable, LAN cables and power cable are available. For more
information, see Appendix A, "Cable Connectors and Pin-outs."
!" The L2W-323 Gateway is accessible and the cables can be easily connected.
!" The room in which you install the Gateway should have an operating temperature
