2. Record the message and save it to your local RvIvr directory in the format specified in
the Create Message window. Repeat this procedure for every new message you want to
record.
Replacing the Default Recordings
You can replace the IVR default recordings with previously created recordings using the
Admin menu Replace Recordings option. Each recording file must be replaced separately.
Make sure the recording files are saved in the following format:
!" A WAVE file, G.711, µ-law, 8 bit, sampling rate of 8Khz.
You can replace one or more of the default recordings.

To replace an IVR recording with a previously created recording
1. Copy the replacement recording files to the RvIvr directory on your hard drive.
2. From the Admin menu at the IVR Recording Utility main screen point to the Replace
Recordings option. A submenu with the numbers of the recordings is displayed.
3. Select the number of the recording you want to replace. The Insert New Recording File
window is displayed. See page 8-8.
4. Select the file with which you want to replace the recording and click Open. The
selected file replaces the default recording.
5. Proceed to "Saving the New Recordings to the Gateway" for instructions on how to
save the new messages to the Gateway.
Saving the New Recordings to the Gateway
Saving replaced messages is the same procedure as for saving new messages. The IVR
Recording utility prepares an .fls file to be uploaded to the Gateway and uploads the file to
the Gateway using the Software Upload Utility.

To save the messages to the Gateway from the Admin menu
1. From the Admin menu at the IVR recording utility main screen point to the Save
Recordings option and click Save Recordings to GW. The Preparing File window is
displayed.
2. Click OK. The Software Upload Utility is displayed.
3. Select the IVR message file (.fls) and click Upload. The new recordings file is saved
to the Gateway.
