Is there a lump of toner in the
middle of a spot?

Is the problem noted in all colors?
3
Is the problem noted at the same
position on all copies made in
continuous mode, but at different
positions on copies made at
intervals?

Is the fault noted at the same
position?
5
Is the problem noted at intervals of
about 180 mm?

Identify the lump as to whether it is
of developer or waste toner by
color.
• if gray (mixed color), it is of
waste toner.
• if Y, M, C, or Bk, it is of
developer.
Is the lump made of waste toner?

assembly and the
developing cylinder for
which the problem is

deformation; if a fault is
found, replace it.
