1 - Brake line

❑ Distinguishing feature:
∅ 6,5 mm and pipe
screw with thread M 12

cuit) to ABS hydraulic

3 - Brake servo
❑ on petrol engines, the
required negative pres‐
sure is drawn from the
intake manifold or it is
generated with a vac‐

❑ vehicles using a diesel
engine are fitted with a
vacuum pump for gen‐
erating a low pressure

❑ Inspect proper opera‐
tion:
– With the engine off
press down brake pedal
repeatedly with force
(this reduces the pres‐
sure already present in the device).
– Now step on and hold brake pedal with medium pressure and start engine. If the brake servo is functioning
properly, the brake pedal will be felt to go down as the servo takes effect.

6 - ABS control unit - J104-
❑ The ABS control unit - J104- and the ABS hydraulic unit - N55- must not be separated from each other
❑ Removing and installing
❑ Disconnecting the control unit from the hydraulic unit
