Operation
Film Drive / Paper Drive
Scanner
After the paper size has been selected, the film is
fed into the film carrier through the film feeder.
While the film is transported through the film
carrier and into the film take-up, the prescanner
determines the exposure data for each negative of
the film (prescan).
After the Main Computer has calculated the
correction data, the negatives are digitized
(exposure): The film is pulled out of the film take-
up and the negatives are positioned one by one in
the film carrier and exposed. Three color
separations per negative are exposed on the CCD
by means of the color filter wheel (main scan;
approx. 2,000x3,000 pixels).
Main Computer
The digitized image data, the prescan data and
the customer's correction and image editing data
are processed on the image processing board,
converted to an exposable image and sent to the
printer.
