Information about File print

Settings in the production balance for negatives
have no influence on file prints.
In contrast to negatives the image files have an
absolute color allocation:
0/0/0 = black
100/100/100 = gray
255/255/255 = white
255/0/0
= extreme blue, etc.
The machine is adjusted in such a way (default)
that e.g. three equal numbers on the print actually
result in gray.
Corrections can be made by correction
configurations with the exception of the area
contrast which has no effect in file print.
With the implementation of manipulation
possibilities for digital images it was assumed that,
in contrast to the color negatives, the full contrast
range of the image can be shown on the print and
therefore a contrast reduction is not necessary.
Furthermore in file print a pure brightness increase
(via corrections or the dTFS function), for
example, has the effect that shadows become
lighter whereas the light areas come out only
slightly lighter or almost unchanged which in turn
means a contrast reduction.
