Operation
Reducing the standard values
Advantages:
Color dominants are detected even better
More reliability to print negatives with a
dominant color neutral
Disadvantages:
Less uniform colors on prints of one and the
same order
Less good color balance for subjects taken
under special light conditions, e.g. sunset,
shots in the shade with a blue sky, fluorescent
light shots
Increasing the standard values
Advantages:
Better color balance for subjects taken under
special light conditions
More uniform colors on the prints of one and
the same order
Disadvantages:
Color dominants are not detected so well
Prints of negatives with predominant colors
may show complementary color casts
The effect of these parameters (if unequal 1.0)
may be very weak if not invisible in case of
unknown films. After the learning phase has been
concluded for these films, i.e. if "Standard TFS
curves" exist, the effect of these dominant
parameters gets normal.
