Introduction

Handling Laser Beams

The d-lab is equipped with an Argon Ion laser of
Class 3B.
The laser beam has been capsulated in the
machine in order to avoid injuries. This means that
the entire machine can be classified as belonging
to laser class 1.
When the d-lab is operated normally, the operator
cannot get into contact with the laser beam, even
not when the machine doors are open.
Classification of the laser beams within the
machine:

PE:
The respective positions in the machine have
labels attached.
Warning!
Never remove or open covers on the machine as
this may be dangerous.
A laser beam of class 3B may be accessible after
the removal of covers.
