Black/White Prints and Sepia Prints

– Basis: Color negative
The button Black/White in the order
configuration is used to eliminate colors by
calculation when negatives are digitized. The
prints are then black-and-white. In case of
strong color dominants the saturation should be
set on -9.
Note: B/W is not possible for Reorder. In this
case color negatives are printed in color even if
a B/W configuration has been selected.
– Basis: Black/White
B/W films can only be printed in the print
modes Autoprint and Manual positioning.
The Reorder function cannot be used for this
purpose. See Reorders of Black/White film /
Film without extended DX code on the following
page.
Before inserting the B/W film, one of the order
configurations set under the film type B/W must
be selected.
If an order configuration with the film type
Color negative is selected, the Prescanner
expects a color negative film. The handling is
stopped with an error message and the B/W
film is ejected.
To produce prints with a color cast, a correction
configuration with saturation and color up to +9
can be created and used. As an alternative the
correction can also be entered with Change
configuration.
− Set the Saturation on a value > 0.
Settings of < 0 would result in an image
processing error.
− Enter the desired color correction.
– Basis: Image files
Automatic conversion of color information in the
original to black-and-white or sepia is not
possible. The image file must be converted
externally, e.g. with a PC and Photoshop or a
comparable program.
