Figure 5-2 shows a partial list of fatal Phoenix BIOS beep codes. These are related to
the keyboard, BIOS, VGA, CMOS RAM, VGA interface, DRAM, and the IDE
interface.

Error initalizing keyboard controller
BIOS ROM Checksum Error
Error Autosizing DRAM (DIMM is possibly defective or not
installed)
CMOS RAM read/write failure
Error initalizing video controller
Error testing RAM between 512 and 640k (DIMM is
possibly defective).
Error testing expanded memory (DIMM is possibly
defective)
Error testing extended memory address lines (DIMM or
system board is possibly defective)
Error testing Real Time Clock
Error testing floppy disk interface
Error initalizing local-bus hard disk controller
