Text Conventions

This document uses the following fonts and symbols to express specific types of
information.
Font/Symbol Meaning
Indicates what you enter, in contrast to what is
AaBbCc123
displayed on the screen.
This font is used to indicate an example of
command input.
Indicates the names of commands, files, and
AaBbCc123
directories displayed in computer output and on
the screen.
This font is used to indicate an example of
command input within the relevant framework.
Italic Indicates the names of reference manuals.
" " Indicates the names of chapters, sections, items,
buttons, and menus.
Command syntax in the text
Though the XSCF commands have a section number of (8) or (1), it is omitted in the
text.
The Oracle Solaris commands have a section number such as (1M) in the text.
Each command has a section number in the command name when prompting users
to refer to it.
