4400 Bar Code Label Printer User's Manual

Printer Operation Problems

If your printer is not operating correctly, try locating the problem in the table
below:
Symptom
Cause
No power or
AC power cable is damaged or
power loss
disconnected.
Printer main power fuse is burnt out.
Labels stop
Media is sticking to the paper path.
indexing
Printer is out of media.
Label gap or label mark sensors are dirty.
Label stock is loaded incorrectly.
Label Stock command is not set for your
media.
Printer slows
Image bands or print speed incorrectly
down
set (and are not recovered when printer
aborted).
Printer has aborted and print speed and
image bands were reset.

Solution
Make sure the power cable is plugged
into both the printer and an outlet or
power strip. Replace the cable if it is
damaged.
Replace the fuse. Refer to Chapter 10.
Clear any extraneous material from the
paper path and clean it thoroughly.
Load new media. Refer to Chapter 4.
Clean label sensors. Refer to Chapter 10.
Check the paper path. Refer to Chapter
10.
Change Label Stock setting to match the
media you are using. Refer to Chapter 5.
Change the Image Bands or Print Speed
settings. Refer to Chapter 5.
Change the Image Bands or Print Speed
settings. Refer to Chapter 5.
