29) Installation of PTT Unit/Gas Shock Absorber
1. Fully tilt up outboard motor and lock with tilt stopper 1.
Be sure to lock outboard motor with tilt
stopper after tilting up. Leaving outboard
m o t o r w i t h o u t l o c k i n g m a y l e a d t o
accidental descent due to reduction of PTT
hydraulic pressure.
2. Reinstall bushings 2, 3, 4 and 5 to their original
positions.

3. Install PTT unit 6 or gas shock absorber 7, and then
cylinder shaft (lower) 8.
Retract tilt rod a little.

4. Attach "C" ring 9.
5. Connect lead wires to battery to fully stretch tilt rod.
6. Install cylinder shaft (upper) 0 and tighten bolt q.

7. Run PTT motor lead wires through hole and secure them
using clamps w and screws e.
8. Connect ground lead r to PTT unit bottom and secure with
bolt t.
9. Install thrust rod y.
