TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Float set too light
Divider rods too long
Divider rods providing
insufficient separation
Reel not frowning or not
centered in header
Knife hold-downs not
adjusted properly
Knife sections or guards
are worn or broken
Header is not level
Reel fingers not lifting crop
properly ahead of knife
Divider runs down thick
crop at ends, preventing
proper feeding due to
material bridging the cutter
guards
Crop heads leaning away
from knifehead hole in
endsheet
Solution
Adjust header float.
Remove divider rod.
Install long divider rods.
Adjust reel frown or reel
horizontal position.
Adjust hold-downs so knife
works freely, but still keep
sections from lifting off
guards.
Replace all worn and
broken cutting parts.
Level header.
Adjust reel position/finger
pitch.
Replace 3 or 4 end guards
with stub guards.
Add knifehead shield(s),
except in damp/sticky soils.
