6.8.1 Reel Clearance to Cutterbar

The minimum clearance between the reel fingers and the cutterbar ensures that the reel fingers do not contact
the cutterbar during operation. The clearance is adjusted at the factory, but adjustments may be necessary
before the header is put into operation.
The finger to guard/cutterbar clearances with reels fully lowered are shown in Table
Clearance, page
200.

Measuring Reel Clearance

To measure the finger-to-guard/cutterbar clearance, follow these steps:
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected start-up or fall of raised machine, always stop engine,
remove key, and engage safety props before going under header for any reason. Refer to the windrower
operator's manual for instructions regarding the proper use and storage of header safety props.
