Install Power Supplies and Tape Drives

Insert a Power Supply into the Slot

Remove the power supply from the shipping carton.

Grasp the power supply by the handle with one hand and support the bottom of

the supply with your other hand.
Guide the power supply into the power supply slot.

Make sure the power supply is latched in place.
4.
Connect a power cord to the power supply receptacle and a receptacle on the rack

Gather cord slack to the outside of the library and wrap the hook and loop strap(s)

around the cord.

Remove a Tape Drive Filler

Loosen the thumbscrew on each side of the tape drive filler.

Grasp the captive screws and pull the filler toward you.

Remove the filler from the drive slot and set it aside.
3.

Insert a Tape Drive Tray into the Slot

Follow accepted practices to prevent ESD.

Remove the drive tray from the shipping carton. Handle the drive tray by the rear

corners (close to the thumbscrews) and the bottom of the tray. Avoid contact with
the top cover of the actual tape drive.

Caution:
Equipment damage. Do not touch the drive tray circuit
card or static sensitive components. The circuit card is located on
the right side of the drive tray (see
Figure
2–25).
