Before you attempt to install or remove an Extreme Networks switch, read the precautions in
Considerations for Installing Switches
If you are installing switches for use in a SummitStack configuration, read
before you install the switches.

Extreme Networks switches fit into standard 19-inch equipment racks.
A four-post fixed rack-mounting kit (XN-46-RKMT-001) is provided with the X465 Series switch. A two-
post kit (XN-2P-RMKIT-001) can be ordered separately.
The provided rack-mounting brackets attach to the front of the switch and are adaptable to either a
front-mount or mid-mount installation. Optional rear-mounting brackets are also included for four-post
racks or cabinets.
The installation process includes the following tasks:
