12. Countershaft bearing cap (117) using J 38856 (fig­
ure 18).
• Ensure outer lip is hit evenly until flush with
case.
13. Mainshaft assembly.
14. Mainshaft rear bearing cup (142), shim(s) (141),
and retainer plate (140).
15. Bearing retainer plate bolts (128).
• Finger tighten only.
16. Pin (101) and countershaft thrust washer (124).
17. Overdrive gear assembly (129) onto overdrive shift
rail (139).
• Bearings (125), spacer (126), synchronizer ring
(133), and clutch gear (134) into overdrive gear
assembly (129), if removed.
• Slide overdrive fork (137) and gear assembly
(129) onto shift rail (139).
18. Clutch gear retaining ring (135).
19. Overdrive shift rod pins (138).
•Support the overdrive fork (137) and drive the
pins (138) downward from the top of the fork
(137).
20. Main drive gear bearing (96) and drive gear (98).
21. Main drive gear bearing retainer (114).
•A pply Loctite® 518 or equivalent sealant.
• Use care not to seal off oil hole.
22. Main drive gear retainer bolts (113).
