2. Oil pump drive to the engine. Index the drive or
pump with the camshaft gear and oil pump drive
shaft. Make sure the drive or pump seats fully.

3. Clamp and bolt.
Tighten
• Bolt to 42 N-m (31 lbs. ft.).
4. Speed sensor wire.

ENGINE ACCESSORY
INSTALLATION
Install the engine accessories as directed in the prop­
er Truck Service Manual. Connect all vacuum hoses
and electrical equipment the same way as removed.

SEAL INSTALLATION

Install or Connect (Figure 88)
Tool Required:
J 39084 Rear Crankshaft Seal Installer
Important
• Coat the crankshaft surface with engine oil, and
lightly coat the lip of the new oil seal with engine
oil or grease before installing the new oil seal. Do
not scratch or nick the sealing edge of the oil seal.
1. The oil seal (79), with the spring cavity towards the
engine, onto the crankshaft.
2. Using J 39084 installation tool, drive the seal in
until the tool bottoms against the block and rear
main bearing cap.
