4. Rocker arm nuts.

• Nuts to 30 N*m (22 lbs. ft.).

1. Gasket.
NOTICE:
Refer to " Notice" on page 6A2-1.
2. Rocker cover.
Tighten
• Bolts to 10 N*m (89 lbs. in.).
3. Crankcase vent valve by threading in retainer.
1 LONG BOLTS
2 SHORT BOLTS
3 STUD
4 NUMBERS ON GASKET INDICATE
TORQUE SEQUENCE
CYLINDER HEAD BOLT TORQUE PROCEDURE
1 TIGHTEN BOLTS IN SEQUENCE (ITEM 4) TO:
LONG BOLTS: 63 N-m (46 LBS. FT.)
SHORT BOLTS: 58 N-m (43 LBS. FT.)
2 TIGHTEN ALL BOLTS AN ADDITIONAL ANGLE
OF 90° IN SEQUENCE (ITEM 4) USING
J 36660 OR EQUIVALENT

J 5590 Crankshaft Sprocket Installer
-M- Install or Connect
1. Crankshaft sprocket using J 5590.

Important
• Be sure sprocket is fully seated against
crankshaft.
TIMING CHAIN, TENSIONER AND
CAMSHAFT SPROCKET

-M- Install or Connect
1. While compressing spring, use a suitable tool
(cotter pin, nail) and insert in hole (A) as shown
in Figure 56.
2. Tensioner and bolts, do not tighten.
3. Align crankshaft and camshaft timing marks with
" tabs" on tensioner, refer to Figure 56.
NOTICE:
4. Camshaft sprocket and timing chain, be sure
timing marks are aligned.
