J 6116-01 Gear Holding Fixture
J 2 1364-A Adapter
J 38868 G ear Assem bly Remover and
Installer
J 6125-B Slide Handle
NOTICE:
Proper torque of center support bolt (25)
should be 39 N*m (29 lb. ft.). If center support
bolt (25) is removed, a new center support (640)
and bolt (25) should be installed during reassembly
to avoid component damage.

1. Center support bolt (25), using 3/8"-12 pt.
TORX® head socket.
NOTICE:
Discard bolt, do not reuse! Damage could
result to the Center Support Housing.
2. Snap ring (633) (tapered).
3. Attach tool J 38868 to main shaft (662).
4. Center support assembly (634-641) and gear unit
assembly (642-672) using tool J 38868.
• Secure tool J 38868 tight to shaft using
wrench.
• Place center support assembly and gear unit
assembly into J 6116-01 fixture.
5. Tool J 38868.
6. Spacer (643).
• Location of thin spacer (643) located at
bottom of case splines.
7. Rear band (657), thrust w asher (673) and
selective thrust washer (674).

• Thrust washers (673 and 674) may be
attached to the output shaft and gear unit
assembly or bottom of case.
• If rear end play measurement was incorrect,
use removed washer and chart to select new
washer.
