• Coat the mating surfaces of the rocker arms (42)
and balls (41) with " Moly Kote" or equivalent.
3. Pushrod guides (260), 7.4L engines only.

. Nuts (40), on 5.0L and 5.7L engines or bolts (40)
on 7.4L engines.

Adjust
Valves (5.0L and 5.7L engines only).

VALVE ADJUSTM ENT

1. Remove the rocker arm covers.
2. Crank the engine until the mark on the torsional
damper lines up with the center or "
timing tab (figure 92). The engine must be in the
number one firing position. This may be determined
by placing fingers on the number one cylinder's
valves as the mark on the damper comes near the
"0" mark on the crankcase front cover. If the valves
are not moving, the engine is in the number one
