The tool will also prevent the rod bearing half
from falling out of the connecting rod during
removal.
3. Connecting rod and piston from the block.
A. Push on the guide rod (item A, figure 35) to
push the piston and connecting rod out.
B. Use the guide rod to prevent the connecting rod
from scoring the cylinder bore.
C. Install the connecting rod cap onto the connect
ing rod. Do not tighten.
D. Repeat this procedure on the remaining piston
and connecting rod assemblies.
