15. Overdrive gear assembly.
•S lid e overdrive fork (137) as far rearward as
possible w hile w orking the overdrive gear
assembly rearward.
• If unable to remove overdrive gear assembly,
remove overdrive clutch gear (134), synchroniz­
er ring (133), spacer (126), and overdrive gear
bearings (125) to lower and remove overdrive
gear (129).
• Do not let the synchronizer come apart.
16. Countershaft thrust washer (124) and pin (101).
17. Bearing retaining plate bolts (128).
18. Mainshaft bearing retainer plate (140), shim(s)
(141), and mainshaft rear bearing cup (142).
• Move synchronizer sleeves into neutral position.
• Raise overdrive shift lever up out of the way
and hold with a rubber band.
19. Mainshaft assembly.
• Lift the mainshaft assembly by the nose through
the front. It may be necessary to wiggle and
twist the mainshaft assembly to remove the
second speed gear from the countershaft.

• Push shaft outward from inside of case.
