C om pressor m ounting holes are metric. Use
proper
metric
J 25008-A .
T hread the Clutch Plate and Hub A ssem bly Remover J
33013-B , into the hub. Hold the body o f the Remover
with a w rench and turn the center screw into the
R em over body to rem ove the Clutch Plate and Hub
assem bly (Fig. 5).
R em ove the shaft key.
Install or Connect
Install the shaft key into the hub key groove (Fig. 6).
A llow the key to project approxim ately 4.8mm (3/16")
out o f the key way.
The
shaft
key
is curved
interference lit in the shaft key groove o f the hub.
Be sure the frictional surface o f the clutch plate and the
clutch rotor are clean before installing the Clutch Plate
and Hub assembly.
Align the shaft key with the shaft keyw ay and place the
Clutch Plate and Hub assem bly onto the com pressor
shaft.

NOTICE:
To
avoid
com pressor, do not drive or pound on the clutch hub or
shaft.

Install the C lutch Plate and Hub Installer J 9 4 0 1-
illustrated in Figure 7.
5.
Hold the hex portion of the Installer Body J 9 4 0 1-B with
a wrench and tighten the center screw to press the hub
onto the shaft until there is a 0 .5 -7.6m m (.0 2 0 -0 3 0 " ) air
gap betw een the frictional surfaces o f the clutch plate
and clutch rotor.
If operation is perform ed w ith com pressor on vehicle,
connect drive belt, tighten m ounting brackets and adjust
belt tension.

Remove or Disconnect

Remove the Clutch Plate and Hub assem bly as described
in CO M PR E SSO R CLU TCH PLATE & HUB ASM.

Remove Rotor and Bearing assem bly retaining ring,

using Snap Ring Pliers J 6083 (Fig. 8). M ark the location
of the clutch coil term inals.
If only the Clutch Rotor and/or Rotor Bearing are to be
replaced, bend the screw head w asher aw ay from the
pulley rim and rem ove the six (6) m ounting screws
before proceeding with Step 3. Discard the mounting
screws.
Install Rotor and Bearing Puller J 25031 dow n into the
rotor until the Puller arms engage the recessed edge o f
the rotor hub. Hold the Puller and arm s in place and
tighten the Puller screw against the Puller G uide to
remove
the
(Fig. 9), being careful not to drop the Puller Guide.
