SPI bus amd SPIDER block: three SPI stripes have been foreseen towards all the other units of the
equipment:
one for the main shelf (with the exception of WDM boards),
one for the WDM boards
the last one for the access shelf (access shelf is not available in current release)
SPIDER block collect basic failure alarms of the unit, collect remote inventory information.
The block is power from service voltage coming from central unit (POW320)
SPI BUS EXTENSION block is used to extend the SPI bus towards other slave devices and also
drives the bicolor led present on the front cover of the unit.

Internal LAN bus: 5.LAN: the two SLCs, the two ECs and all the ports are connected together by
means of a LAN. The two LAN switches (named "LAN Switch" and "GE Switch") depicted in Figure
106. are the "core" of this function. By means of such switches the Equipment Controllers can be
"connected" to two Q3 interfaces and to two Drop Shelf interfaces.
