Provides path termination functionalities for the particular transport technology.

Packet demapper
Virtual concatenated group termination with LCAS management for SDH. For HO SDH traffic, also
standard contiguous concatenation (i.e. AU4-4c and AU4-16c - AU4-64c)will be supported.
Each card will be able to manage Virtual Concatenated Groups, for SDH, with the characteristics
described below:
Extraction of GFP/LAPS/HDLC (frames from the specific transport technology (SDH).
Depending on the transported packet traffic different functionalities are provided:
ETH based traffic
GFP/LAPS frames termination
detection of CFS (for GFP only)
FCS check (GFP/LAPS only)
Packet discarding in case of FCS error
metering (GFP/LAPS frames)
ETH decapsulation from GFP/LAPS frames
MAC validity check
Metering on port base
Support of Ethernet over Cisco proprietary
HDLC in transparent way
Packet mapper
Virtual concatenated group generation with LCAS management for SDH based traffic.
For HO SDH traffic, also standard contiguous concatenation (i.e. AU4-4c and AU4-16c - AU4-64c)
will be supported. VCG management characteristics as defined in demapper functionality.
Mapping of GFP/LAPS/HDLC frames into the specific transport technology (SDH).
Depending on the transported packet traffic different functionalities are provided:
