Both the LAN switch and the PQ2/MC2E module are then directly connected to TESLA, so that second
level controller microprocessors and PQ2/MC2E can have an independent access to the data engine for
the extraction/insertion of control plane/management plane packets as well as possible commands for
components like a Network Processor.
The last LAN interface is connected directly to the front panel of the data board using an RJ45 connector.
This last interface could be used for debugging or for future management applications (if needed)
Moreover Tesla exports:
• One ISPB R2 interface directed to the data engine to reach components exporting an ISPB
interface.
• One ISPB R2 interface per each PIM module.
Remote inventory is mounted on the transparent SPI of the spider A and can be read only by the SLCs.
Spider B internal registers will be used for signal exchange between SLC and LDC. (for instance HW ready
and SW ready signals)
• PIM must be reachable from LDC microprocessor and SLC microprocessors. The access is
obtained Using a spider mounted on PIM.
• One access is connected to the SPI interface exported by PQ2/MC2E
PIM may export the following DCC channels: DCC A, DCC B and Tesla DCC.
DCC A/B, if exported, are sent directly at backplane and are used to carry MS/RS DCC channels coming
from STM interfaces resident on PIMs to the FLC.
Tesla DCC, if exported, is used only in case MS/RS DCC coming from PIMs have to be terminated by the
LDC microprocessor.
The data board provides two debugging interfaces (in alternative). A serial interface with USB mini-B
connector on front and a LAN interface with a RJ45 connector on front
Management of LED has to be made in part by LDC microprocessor and in part by SLC microprocessors.
For this reason both LDC and SLCs must have access to the LEDs of the data board. The access is
provided via spider B.
