– Each Port slot can be split into two parts in order to obtain 2 'half slots'.
In addition, the four slots adjacent to the matrix slots can be alternatively split into two parts
generating 1 "normal" slot plus 1 "small" slot for WDM compatibility by means of special mechanical
adapters:
1) Mechanical adapter without vertical fixing bar specific for 1850 TSS-320 "half" size cards
(4.5TE wide)
– Both upper and lower cards are fixed with levers;
2) Mechanical adapter with vertical fixing bar 2.5 mm thick for "normal" size cards 4.0TE wide
– upper (normal) card fixed with levers
– lower (small) card fixed by screws
– The upper part of the remaining four + four slots can also be used for PDH applications.
– Three of the remaining four half slots can also be used for lower order applications.
– Two adjacent port slots can be combined as well generating a "double full" slot (i.e. for 20G Full Rate
Processor board "PP20G").
