3.5.6 Station Alarms Interface

The station Alarms Interface consists of two interfaces: Local Office Alarm Interface and Remote Alarm
Interface.
3.5.6.1 Local Office Alarm Interface
The local office alarm interface is present on the backplane. Connector is located in the upper part of the
backplane
The Local Office Alarm Interface is provided to drive the visual and audible alarm indicators.
This interface drives the lamps hosted by the top Rack Unit:
urgent alarm lamp: color is RED .
not urgent alarm lamp: color is RED .
attended alarm lamp: color is YELLOW
TOR: fault or loss of one station battery: color is GREEN
Incoming EOW call: color is GREEN
Station Alarm interface is driven by logic resident on the FLC Board.
3.5.6.2 Remote Alarms interface
Remote Alarms Interface is present on the backplane. Connector is located in the upper part of the
backplane. The alarms are a summary of local shelf:
urgent alarm active if a urgent alarm is present on the network element
not urgent alarm active if a urgent alarm is present on the network element
TOR Alarm: active when one of the two batteries is failed.
TAND Alarm: active when all the batteries are failed.
TORC Alarm: active when one of the service power sources is failed.
ANC Alarm: active when both the service power sources are in fail
Internal Alarm: active when two FLC are equipped, the two FLCs are protected with EPS
protection and one of the FLCs is failed.
INDETERMINATE alarm: Cause is SW generated
3.5.6.3 Housekeeping interface
Housekeeping interface is present on the backplane. Connector is located in the upper part of the
backplane.
Housekeeping functionality (inputs and outputs) is provided by the active FLC board.
The FLC board shall drive 8 separate inputs for fault conditions arising externally to the NE.
