Card in of PIM units are read as a register of the TESLA FPGA resident on data boards via ISPB or can
be read (for SLC only) also from Spider.
Card in of XFP/SFP modules is read using spider Asics resident on PIM or on Ports. Card_in of XFP/SFP
is retrieved by Mazinga. Card in architecture is reported in Figure 68 on page 105.
It is in general foreseen that issues related to board presence are managed by SLC for all boards.
Equipment data (Equipment type, board type, shelf id, slot id) are sent on the Sys_Id interface exported
by the PQ3/MC1-B module.
HW Active/Stand-by functionality to support the second level controller redundancy is directly exported
by the PQ3/MC1-B module and directly drawn to the backplane interface.
SLC microprocessors download FPGAs using the Hw_config bus.
Temperature sensors are present and can be accessed via Spider Asic on the transparent SPI interface.
LED are accessed via Spider Asic on the parallel I/O interface
The Matrix board provides two debugging interfaces (in alternative). A serial interface with USB mini-B
connector on front and a LAN interface with a RJ45 connector on front.
SLC functionality is duplicated by duplicating the matrix board.
The duplication of SLC functionalities is based on the following scheme:
One matrix is active and the other in stand-by. Decision is coordinated via the ACT/SBY
hardware interface.
FLC provisions both SCs with the same data and commands.
Hardware (ASIC, FPGA) is controlled by the active SLC.
The active LAN Switches are always resident on the Active Matrix board. This means that in
case of Matrix Board protection the FLC board must react changing the LAN interface used for
all communications.
Matrix Board Interfaces:
ISPB R2C interface
LAN interface (internal/external)
DBG interface
SPI interface
ISC interface
IPL interface (LAN,ACT/STBY wires)
Hw_Config Interface
