3.5.4 Network Element Identification
On any network element are implemented the following identification parameters:
–
Equipment Type/Backplane Version (visible from FLC at backplane connector)
–
Slot Identifier; identifies the position in which a board is inserted.
–
Shelf identifier; it is the identifier of shelf in presence of a multi-shelf configuration.
3.5.5 Control interfaces
The main interfaces for communication among modules implemented in Metro 4G medium node are
described in Figure 70. on page 109.
These interfaces can be divided in:
•
Interfaces among modules inside the shelf (backplane Interfaces)
–
ISPB R2C: Parallel Bus implementing register access interface
–
Internal LAN: Implementing the message interface
–
SPI: Serial Peripheral & Inventory
–
IPL: Inter Processor Link
–
ISCs: access to non duplicated functions on First level controller boards, access to remote
inventory, parallel IOs and devices exporting serial interfaces in general
–
Hw_config: interface for FPGA download
–
USB: Universal Serial Bus (for disk protection)
•
External interfaces: (Inter shelf interfaces)
–
Q interface: toward OS
–
DS interface: toward drop shelves
–
F interface: toward CT
–
Qaux interface: proprietary for management
–
DBG interface: for debug
–
USB interface: For system recovery and security and other
