HouseKeeping Alarms/Commands:
Four output (CPO) and 8 input (CPI) contacts for house-keeping alarms or commands are physically
available on connectors placed at the top of the subrack back panel (refer to Figure 16. on page 44).
The available house-keeping contacts are the following:
HK-OUT 1 to 4: outgoing contacts
HK-IN 1 to 8: Incoming contacts
Alarm Attending:
The detected SDH units alarm condition can be stored through push-button (11) on the EC320 unit
(Attended).
This operation will turn OFF the general red LED (14) and will light up the yellow LED (17) on the EC320
unit (Attended); The attended command is also sent to the rack lamps (if present).
Trouble-shooting:
The 1850 TSS-320 equipment has been designed to dialog with a Personal Computer (PC) in order to
service, activate and trouble-shoot the equipment.
Trouble-shoot procedure for the equipment and details of the alarms for each card and relevant indications
are described in the relevant Handbook.
Connection with the PC is achieved through connector (8) or (9) available on the EC320 board.
The unit can be connected to an Operations System associated to the Transmission Management
Network in order to execute operations similar to those carried out by the PC.
Characteristics of the cited remote alarms and Housekeeping contacts interface (EM type) are inserted
in Chapter 5.1 on page 179.
