14.4 Laser Exposure System
14.4.1 When Replacing the Laser Scanner
Unit
There is no special work in conjunction with the
replacement of the laser scanner unit.
14.4.2 Checking the Laser Power
1) Check to make sure that the Data lamp in the
control panel is OFF, and turn off the main
power switch.
2) Disconnect the power plug from the power
outlet.
3) Remove the copyboard glass.
4) Open the laser power checker slot cover [1].

5) Shift the switch of the laser power checker
(FY9-4008) to '2'.
6) White orienting the laser power checker so that
its light-receiving face [1] is as shown, fit it in.

7) Connect the probe lines of the laser power
checker to a digital multimeter.

8) Connect the power plug to the power outlet,
and turn on the main power switch.
9) Make the following selections in service mode:
COPIER > FUNCTION > LASER.
10) Select <POWER-A>, and press the OK key.
11) Check to see that the reading of the digital
multimeter is 9 to 11 mV, indicating that the
power of the laser A is correct.
12) Select <POWER-B>, and press the OK key.
13) Check to see that the reading of the digital
multimeter is 9 to 11 mV, indicating that the
power of the laser B is correct.
