Online Buttons

The craft interface has a row of Online buttons along its lower edge. Each button
corresponds to one slot in the card cage.
In the current release, the Online buttons are only supported for slots containing I/O
cards (IOCs).

Alarm Relay Contacts

The craft interface has two alarm relay contacts for connecting the device to external
alarm devices (see Figure 17 on page 27). Whenever a system condition triggers
either the red or yellow alarm on the craft interface, the alarm relay contacts are
also activated. The alarm relay contacts are located on the upper right of the craft
interface.

Power Supplies

The services gateway uses either AC or DC power supplies. The device is configurable
with two, three, or four AC power supplies or two or four DC power supplies. The
power supplies connect to the midplane, which distributes the different output
voltages produced by the power supplies to the device components, depending on
their voltage requirements. Each power supply is cooled by its own internal cooling
system.

Power Supply Installation and Replacement

CAUTION: The device cannot be powered from AC and DC power supplies
simultaneously. The first type of power supply detected by the device when initially
powered on determines the type of power supply allowed by the device. All installed
power supplies of the other type are disabled by the device. If you install a power
supply of the other type while the device is operating, the device disables the power
supply and generates an alarm.
