This manual describes hardware components, installation, basic configuration, and
basic troubleshooting procedures for the Juniper Networks SRX 5600 services gateway.
It explains how to prepare your site for device installation, unpack and install the
hardware, power on the device, perform initial software configuration, and perform
routine maintenance. After completing the installation and basic configuration
procedures covered in this manual, see the JUNOS software configuration guides for
information about further JUNOS software configuration.
NOTE: For additional information about Juniper Networks services gateways and the
I/O cards (IOCs) and Services Processing Cards (SPCs) they support—either corrections
to or information that might have been omitted from this guide—see the hardware
release notes at

This guide is designed for network administrators who are installing and maintaining
a Juniper Networks services gateway or preparing a site for services gateway
installation. To use this guide, you need a broad understanding of networks in general,
the Internet in particular, networking principles, and network configuration. Any
detailed discussion of these concepts is beyond the scope of this guide.
