Check for worn wheel bearing by grabbing the front and rear
wheel, and attempting to move the wheel side to side.
Replace the bearings i f any l o oseness i s noted {Refer to sec-
lion 12 or 13).
Making sure the fork is not allowed to move, raise the front
wheel and check for play. Turn the wheel and check that i t
rotates smoothly with no usual noises.
If faults are found, i n spect the wheel bearings.
Support the motorcycle securely and raise the rear wheel
off the ground.
Check for play in either lhe wheel or the swingarm pivot. Turn
the wheel and check that i t rotates smoothly with no unusual
noises.
If abnormal conditions are suspected, check the rear wheel
bearings.
NOTE:
As the swingarm pivot i s included in this check, be sure to
confirm lhe l o calion of the play, i.e. from lhe wheel bearings
or the swingarm pivot.

NOTE:
Tire pressure should be checked when the tires are COLD.

Check the tires for cuts, embedded nails, or other damage.
Check the front and rear wheels for trueness (refer to section
12 and 13).
Measure the tread depth at the center of the tires.
Replace the tires when the tread depth reaches the following
limits.
