CYLINDER HEADNALVES
After cutting the seat, apply l a pping compound to the valve
face, and l a p the valve using l i ght pressure.
CAUTION:
Excessive lapping pressure may deform
or
damage the
seat.
Change the angle of lapping tool frequently to prevent
uneven seat wear.
Lapping compound can cause damage If It enters between
the valve stem and guide.
After l a pping, wash any residual compound off the cylinder
head and valve and recheck the seat contact.

Clean the cylinder head assembly with solvent and blow
through all oil passages with compressed air.
Install the valve spring seats.
Install the new stem seals.
Lubricate the valve stems with engine oil and i n sert the valve
into the valve guide.
To avoid damage to the stem seal, turn the valve slowly when
inserting.
