Remove the cylinder head (section 7).
Remove the cylinder. Do not strike the cylinder too hard and
do not damage the mating surface by using a screw driver
when removing it.
Clean lhe top of the cylinder thoroughly.
CAUTION:
A void damaging the gasket surfaces.
Remove the cam chain guide.
Remove the dowel pins and gasket.
INSPECTION
Inspect the cylinder wall for scratches and wear.
Measure and record the cylinder I.D. at three l e vels in both
the X and Y axes. Take the maximum reading to determine
the cylinder wear.
SERVICE LIMIT: 63.6 mm (2.50 In)
Calculate the cylinder for out of round at the three levels i n
an X and Y axis. Take the maximum reading to determine the
out at round.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0.10 mm (0.004 in)
Calculate the cylinder for taper at three l e vels i n an
X
and
Y
axis. Take the maximum reading to determine the taper.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0.10 mm (0.004 In)
The cylinder must be rebored and an oversize piston fitted if
the service l i mits are exceeded.
The following oversize pistons are available:
0.25 mm (0.010 in), 0.50 mm (0.020 in).
The cylinder must be rebored so that the clearance for an
oversize piston is 0.020 - 0.060 mm (0.0008 - 0.0024 in).
