The starter motor can be removed with the engine in the frame.
For the starter drive and driven gear removal/installation, see section 10.
See section 18 for starter switch and i g nition switch inspection.
A weak battery may be unable to turn the starter motor quickly enough, or supply adequate i g nition current.
If the current is kept flowing through the starter motor to turn i t while the engine i s not cranking over, the starter motor
may be damaged.
