Software Package

After installing the device and powering it up, you are ready to install the utilities that are
included in the software package. This software package must be installed on the host
PC/machine to be used to manage the device. The software package is supplied to
customers on a CD accompanying the Mediant 1000.
To get started, take these 3 basic steps:

To configure the Mediant 1000's IP address, go to ''Getting Started'' on page 47.

Unzipping the Software Package

The software package is contained on a CD supplied with the device. It is also available on
the AudioCodes' FTP Web site.
Customers using a Windows™ operating system unzip the software package from the
self-extractable exe file (refer to "Unzipping When Using a Windows™ Operating
System" below).
Customers using a Linux™/Solaris™ operating system unzip the software package
from the tar.z (refer to "Unzipping When Using a Linux™/Solaris™ Operating System"
below).
4.1.1 Unzipping When Using a Windows™ Operating System
To unzip when using a Windows™ operating system, take these 3
steps:
Execute the exe self-extractable zip file.

In the dialog box opened after executing the exe file, enter the full path of the directory

that you intend to be the root directory for the installation.
Click UnZip. The exe file installs the extracted files into the specified root directory.

4.1.2 Unzipping When Using a Linux™/Solaris™ Operating System
To unzip when using a Linux™/Solaris™ operating system:
Use the commands: uncompress tar.z; tar -xvf xxxx.tar
