When modifying the Protocol Type, there are three different menu types that match
the following 3 protocol families:
When traversing between these 3 protocol families, the menu is modified to include
additional parameters appropriate to the family type selected.

are displayed. Configure the parameter ISDN Termination Side as "User side" when
the PSTN or PBX side is configured as "Network side", and vice versa. If you do not
know the Mediant 1000 ISDN termination side, choose "User side" and refer to the
Status & Diagnostics screen. If the D-channel alarm is indicated, choose "Network
side". For E1 trunks, always set the Framing Method to Extended Super Frame.
