GENERAL ENGINE PROCEDURES

FLYWHEEL AND STARTER MOTOR IDLE GEAR REMOVAL

- Remove the right crankcase and fix the engine at the top dead centre, as
described in the relevant paragraphs.
- Remove the screw (1) with the washer.
- Heat the flywheel hub (2) to a temperature of approx. 100°C.

- Remove the flywheel together with the freewheel (2) using a suitable puller.
- Check the tab and replace it if necessary.

Removal/installation of the freewheel from/on the flywheel

Removal:
- Unscrew the screws (3) and remove the flange (4) and the freewheel (5) from
the flywheel (2).

Installation:
- Check the condition of the freewheel (5), and replace it if it is ruined.
- Refit the freewheel (5) with the relevant flange, tightening the screws to torque
(3).
