CYLINDER HEAD REMOVAL/DISASSEMBLY

Clean the threading and the washer (8) of the intake camshaft (2).
- Clean the contact surface and fit the driving wheel (6).
-
Tighten the screw (7) (left-hand threading) with the washer (8) locking the
shaft with the socket (9).

Lubricate all support surfaces with engine oil.
- Pay attention to the position of the cam and fit the exhaust camshaft (1) with
the EX mark on the relevant gear level with the sealing surface (arrow).

Place the timing chain (3) on the inner side of the exhaust camshaft gear (1).
-
Lubricate all support surfaces with engine oil.

- Insert the intake side camshaft (2), place the timing chain (3) on the inner
side of the gear.
- Fit the timing chain (3) on the exhaust side camshaft (1), paying attention to
the EX mark.
-
The EX mark must be level with the sealing surface.
- Fit the timing chain (3) on the intake side camshaft (2), paying attention to
the IN mark.
-
The IN mark must be level with the sealing surface.
-
Fit the chain tensioner and activate it manually to tension the timing chain.
-
Check the marks on the camshaft gears.
-
The IN and EX marks must face each other and must be level with the sealing
surface.

- Refit the camshaft mount as described in the relevant paragraph (without
fitting the head cover).
-
Check the valve clearance and the timing as described in chapter "F".
- If valve clearance and timing are correct, refit the head cover.
