1 Configuring Ethernet Ports
The Ethernet software is responsible for a variety of functions that support the Ethernet and Gigabit Ether-
net ports on OmniSwitch 6600 Series switches. These functions include diagnostics, software loading,
initialization, configuration of line parameters, gathering statistics, and responding to administrative
requests from SNMP or CLI.
