Understanding How the System Message Logging Works
If a system failure occurs, the system syslog-dump allows you to write the system messages in the syslog
buffer to a flash file, capturing the pertinent syslog information before the system fails. If the system core
dump is enabled, the syslog is dumped before the core.
The messages that are redirected to a syslog server are delayed up to 90 seconds.
