Configuring IIS as your web server
Introduction
Follow the procedures in this section if you are using IIS instead of Apache as
your web server and Apache Tomcat as your servlet engine.
Microsoft Internet Information Server
If you are planning to use IIS as your web server, you must verify that it is
installed on your computer. Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) is
installed as part of Windows 2000 Server. It is not installed as part of Windows
2000 Advanced Server. If it is not installed on your computer, install it now. For
more information about installing IIS, refer to your Microsoft documentation.
Note: After you install IIS, you must reinstall Service Pack 4.
To install Apache Tomcat for IIS
Note: If you are installing a later version of Tomcat than the one mentioned in
the procedure below, refer to the Tomcat web site for more information before
you install Tomcat on your computer.
1
Download the latest version of the Tomcat 4.1.x binary (for example,
jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24.exe) from
http://www.apache.org/dist/jakarta/tomcat-4/.
2
Run the executable file.
Result: The Apache Tomcat 4.1.x Setup window appears.
